Using instructions for integrating the Falbum plugin with the K2 mobile theme I have been able to link my Flickr gallery into the blog. Please have a browse over to the gallery which is a direct feed from my Flickr account. There were some minor changes required to the K2 header and an additional falbum.php file was required in the K2 theme folder. I failled to get it to use friendly URL’s but at least the link up is working.

I use a combination of Wordpress for the core blog with the K2 mobile theme providing a template framework, which has some AJAX features for ease of use. The orginal default Wordpress theme was designed by Michael Heilemann and he is now the lead on K2. Michael can be found on his website Binari Bonsai. I have yet to decide on a gallery system other than using Flickr for storage and linking back here via RSS or using the Flickr API with the Tantannoodles Wordpress Flickr plugin. I am still working on getting the API link working for Tantannoodles.

Just pulled together a new blog machine. After years spent searching for a blog or news system that would integrate a gallery, news, blog and forum I have settled on the excellent Wordpress. I have run sites with Ikonboard, Pmachine, PHPNuke, Postnuke, Mambo and a bunch of technology inbetween. This is a new fresh slate for posting news, views, images and any other stuff I feel excited about.
