Introduction to our Classic Battletech Game
Unseen Marauder
This is the battle plan and scenario for a group of UK players of Classic Battletech who are attending the Salute 04 Wargames Show at Olympia, Hammersmith, on the 24th of April 2004. Show Poster link.

Our stand number is W237 on the First floor near the gents toilet and the Games Workshop stand. Please poop by.
This web page is currently the pre-game description and details, after the event the full game write up, photos and maybe even a video will appear on this page. The full terrain board has been created by Realistic Modelling Services

Classic Battletech is a game of giant walking mechanised robots. The rules are simple and easy to learn and there are many figures and resource materials to get a new player started. Each Battlemech has a pilot, who sits in a small cockpit (in the head of your mech). The scale is 6mm or 1:300th / 1:285th and in real world terms that makes the average Battletech mech 10 meters (around 32 feet) in height and weighing from 25 to 100 tons.

Each Battletech figure can take several direct hits from enemy weaponry during a game so you only need a few figures and one set of rules to get a basic game started. Ebay is a great place to search for secondhand Battletech items.

Battletech Game Overview
Unseen Locust

This is a Clan Assault across a beachhead using lvl2 technology rules and splitting the Battle Value (BV) equally between both sides.

UK members of the Lords of the Battlefield web community created rosters that easily matched mech figures they had in their collection or were near to completion for the event.

The Battle Value allowed for each side was 25K, which should allow us time to obtain a decisive result with the six to seven hours of game time at the Salute 04 wargames show.

The players have not had time for a pre-game practice! Which is why this web page has been setup to give players an overview of the game before the day!

All players figures will need to be painted and based with a textured, flocked or modeled base. This is very important to our presentation and quality, it will also help us promote this excellent game. This is not a painting contest, but figures should all be completed.

Mech Pilots have been named to allow us to use them at other future events and to add a bit of realism.

A note on the Battletech Terrain.
Vulture
A lot of the buildings are from Snapdragon Studio (who no longer make the 1/300th scale items). The more European style houses and factories used are painted and supplied by Time cast Models.

The full terrain board has been created by Realistic Modelling Services , although at the moment I have only the design diagram shown below.
Most of the Trees are also made by Realistic Modelling and any extra items are from my own collection. Some smaller items are Old Crow Models.

The main board is due to arrive soon, and will allow me time to get some photo's ready with the scenario objectives included.

Diagram of Battletech
Battletech Dropship
The Clan invaders are assumed to have dropped in just off-shore on the Northern edge of the map. Inner Sphere key defence areas include the area behind the cliff head and the larger industrial zone toward the South. Below this map is a sample of the terrain quality from Realistic Modelling.
