Overview:
This was a simple two sided Battletech game between Clan and Innersphere. The Drawing Board application was used to select around 12,000 points per side. Four players participated in the fight and plenty of beer was drunk.
It was based on an Inner Sphere world, with the Clan completing an alpha strike on a City area intending to disable two key strategic targets. Objectives and plans were issued in secret before the game started.
The Clan used an Honour system, so they could not mass fire until the Inner Sphere did. This made the first few exchanges interesting.
The Inner Sphere knew of the arrival of the Clan and had orders to protect various key buildings. They did not know what buildings or objectives that the Clan had.
Pilot and Gunnery skills were rolled on the standard table with a +2 for Clan rolls.

The Game played for 8 turns (I think) and lasted from 8pm till 4am in the morning. After the Beers the Coffee kept us going - what a night!

A note on the Terrain. A lot of the buildings are from Snapdragon Studio (who no longer make the 1/300th scale items). The more European style houses and factories on the city block are painted and supplied by Time cast http://www.timecastmodels.co.uk/

Players in attendance:

Faction: Innersphere
Robin Fitton (inrepose)
Gary Payne
Faction: Clan Wolf
Robin Green
Marco Cortese

The Battle Overview (Sorry, not a blow by blow account just an overview).

Initially the Clan moved a Masakari and Man-o-War directly South, splitting them from the main group and heading toward the recreational lake. This is where they stayed for the most part of the fight and the Masakari finally fell to a head shot from the Gunslinger.

The Fenris ran at high speed directly West along the top area of the map, avoiding any major damage and making a fast move toward the secondary target the VTOL launch pad. On it's way down the board it took out the Hussar who was only able to spot for the Longbow before going down in flames. It took out both of the Clan Objectives.

The remaining Madcat, second Masakari and Puma made their way SW into the city area and both ended up destroyed or taken out due to Gyro destruction.

Early on the Ostsol suffered serious damage removing one of its PPC's and causing a single engine Crit. For the rest of the battle the Ostsol continued to harass the Masakari and Man-o-War in the South East map segment.

The longbow held back at the VTOL pad but was outmaneuvered by the Fenris, which slipped in and destroyed the VTOL pad and followed up with the destruction of the Tank Factory.

The Innersphere were not able to get the Truck fuel convoy across board, failing this objective but they did manage to inflict heavy damage on the clan mechs.

A successful strike and completion of objectives by the Clan, but the Innersphere caused enough serious damage to call it a draw!

Thanks to all the players and well done for a game that started at just after 8pm and ran til 4am!

Masakari C Destroyed. Head Shot on last turn. Other slight non-critical damage. On last turn Gunslinger gets a headshot with the light laser (head already has no armour).
Masakari C 2 Gyros destroyed 6th turn. Other non-critical's well spread around damage. Hollander Gauss and LRM15 from an Orion, both C.Torso crit's bringing down the Masakari.
Mad Cat Destroyed. Major internal structure damage causing Gyro and Engine failure on the last turn. Mix of damage from Atlas, Hunchback, Orion and Gunslinger.

Star Game Mech's and Highlights.
The Star player is the Ostsol, he did not manage any kills but stayed in the game creating a serious annoyance and some damage to the Clan until the last turn when he was destroyed by major damage to the torso from a Man-o-War rear shot!
Highlights:
Great head shot to the Gunslinger from a seriously damaged Madcat on the 6th Turn.
The last stand of the Puma, when it stood up with only one leg and one arm and then continued to pump damage into the Orion in the adjacent square, before being knocked out.
The amazingly lucky LRM15 centre torso critical from the Orion to the undamaged Masakari on Turn 6, when the Hollander followed up on the same turn with a Gauss and also got a centre torso critical. Both shots hit Gyros and the Masakari went down! It was a great scene in the City centre when the Masakari fell!
The great run of the Fenris, which managed to destroy both of the Clan objectives by the end of the match and avoid any serious damage.
